Root Canal Treatment may be needed when:

• The soft tissue inside the tooth (the pulp) becomes infected and inflamed
• Large cavities that have extended into the pulp of the tooth
• Trauma to the crown of the tooth that damages the pulp.

A root canal is a method of removing the dead and dying tissue inside the tooth. By doing this, we can prevent the spread of infection and save the natural tooth. During a root canal procedure, our team makes an opening in the crown of the tooth. Then the pulp chamber and root canals are cleaned and the inflamed and infected tissue is removed. The chamber is filled with a rubber-like substance and the crown is restored with a filling.
