Dentinal sensitivity:The inner dentin layer of the tooth is made up of many microtubules which lead to the nerves in the pulp chamber. When the outer protective cementum and enamel layer of the tooth are removed, the dentin layer is exposed. Cold and hot temperature or pressure can be carried by the microtubules and be sensed by the inner nerve branches of the tooth. Causes of dentinal sensitivity:
